A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT, MICHELLE T

A new year…a clean slate…. What will you do?  How will you fill it?  What changes do you want to make?  A year from now what will you have accomplished?

The new year is a great time to make the decision to take on a new challenge…. to jump a new hurdle.   One thing that I plan to do this year is to simplify things in my life …starting with this newsletter article… a simple message that allows its readers to interpret for themselves – to create meaning based on their own experience and needs.

Here is my message:  TRY SOMETHING NEW

What could be easier?  Not a hard resolution to keep, just one thing… one new thing.  Maybe you could try a new thing in each area of your life… family, career, personal…even JWCL.

Here are some upcoming opportunities for you to make good on trying something new…

So pick out something new, mark your calendars and be proud of yourself for accomplishing one of your goals for 2006.

***Of course you could really go out on a limb and decide that you were going to step up to lead (co-chair) one of these wonderful activities!  We need lots of new leaders to keep us building in the right direction.

A NOTE FROM ELINOR M, FIRST VICE PRESIDENT

Happy New Year!  All of your department chairs are busy completing their reports for 2005.  Thank you to everyone who has completed their PPS sheets.  We cannot complete our reports without you.  A summary will be presented to the club once all of our final reports are sent to GFWC;  you should be proud of the good work done in 2005.

  A NOTE FROM KATE M & SHANNON L, FUND RAISING CO-CHAIRS

We are currently brainstorming for ideas for the Spring Fundraiser. Stay tuned in the near future for our latest ideas.  Please feel free to let us know if you have anything to share with us.

A MESSAGE FROM AMY H, TREASURER

Attached is the proposed FY 2006 JWCL budget.  Please review it and bring any questions or concerns to the next meeting where we will formally present and discuss the budget and, hopefully, approve it!

If you have not paid your dues for 2006, please bring a check to the next meeting made out to JWCL for $37.  DUES ARE OVERDUE!!

A NOTE FROM JENNIFER M, NEWSLETTER EDITOR

Happy New Year to everyone!  We do not have anyone signed up to deliver Meals on Wheels for the month of February (or March).  If you are able to volunteer any of the Wednesdays in the month, please let me know ASAP.  You can either e-mail me or sign up on Tuesday night.

Also, we do not have anyone signed up to bring refreshments to Tuesday nights meeting.  Please let me know if you would like to bring something.

 A REMINDER FROM TERI H

Fairy Tale Closet - 4th Annual!     It's hard to believe we are getting ready to host our 4th Fairy Tale Closet event!  For those who are new to club,  this is such a great, fun event to be a part of.  We collect gently worn formal dresses from the community, and set up a "boutique" for teen girls to come pick out a dress for Prom, free of charge.  We also collect any other prom-related items (shoes, jewelry, purses, etc).  I am waiting to hear back from the Hampton Inn to see if they will donate their space to us again this year, but right now I'm shooting for mid-March or early April.  I will have a sign-up sheet at the next meeting for anyone who would like to help plan this great event.  Our planning is all done through email, so you are not required to attend meetings
