JWCL December 11, 2007 Meeting Summary

Meeting Highlights

 
  1. Trina Z. was installed as a new member.
 
  1. Newsletter Editor Amy B. presented Becca A. with a special gift to commemorate her 16th anniversary as a member of JWCL.  
 
  1. Member at Large Pam S. presented President Ronna S. with a Christmas gift from JWCL. The club will be making a donation to the American Heart Association in honor of Ronna.  Pam also presented Ronna with a special superhero cape.
 
  1. The PR committee is asking club members for suggestions of newsletters where they can place announcements about the February Membership event. If you have a suggestion, please contact Emily H. or Cindy S.
 
  1. Newsletter Editor Amy B. announced that there will be a Congratulations Corner in future newsletters. If you have some good news to share with the club, please let Amy know.
 
  1. JWCL has signed up to work at Holiday Coalition on the following dates; Wednesday,  December 12th from 12 to 3 p.m.,  Friday December 14th from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, December 15th  from  9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m.  If anyone would like to work on a different date or shift than the ones we have signed up for, please contact Rebecca M.
 
  1. Lori R. informed the club that nominations for offices at the District level are due at the end of December. The due date for nominations for the LEADS leadership program is on January 25th. Anyone interested in becoming a District officer or participating in LEADS should contact Lori.
 
  1. A motion was made to make end of the year donations to the following charities;
$100 to the Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing
$100 to Holiday Coalition in the form of toys or grocery store gift cards
$50 to Very Special Arts
$50 to LARC
$50 to a Cystic Fibrosis charity
$50 to a breast cancer charity
$150 to the VFW to help rebuild their club house
$150 Fresh Air Full Care
$100 to Camp Easter Seals to buy a brick for their miniature golf course.
$100 Loudoun Free Clinic
$100 to the Loudoun Chapter of the American Red Cross
The motion was seconded. The motion passed.
