President Ronna S. presented information to
the members concerning JWCL possibly obtaining 501(c)(3) status. JWCL has
been presented with the opportunity to obtain this status under the GFWC –VA
umbrella. By doing this under GFWC-VA, it will mean less paperwork we will
need to complete and it will not be as expensive as if we pursued this on
our own. GFWC-VA does require that we amend our bylaws with specific wording
in order to be considered for this tax status. JWCL must file all the
necessary paperwork by October 15th.
