JWCL supports the community through a variety of service projects, and by contributing both funds and volunteer time to local and national organizations. The projects and organizations that JWCL support fall into a variety of categories. Examples of organizations and activities that JWCL supports are listed under each category.
JWCL also supports its members by providing opportunities for leadership growth and membership development.
In 2009 JWCL members contributed over 3,600 volunteer hours to a variety of activities. We adopted two families for the Christmas season, participated in 5 charitable walks, provided financial support for 7 high school after-graduation parties, donated 473 pounds of food to local food pantries, provided approximately 100 area high school girls with prom attire, and sent over $20,000 worth of coupons to military bases overseas. |
