Pinwheel Planting on the National Mall - April 9
  • What: In recognition of National Child Abuse Prevention Month a pinwheel garden will be planted on the National Mall, near the Washington Monument.
  • Time: Planting between 8 am - 11 am; program to follow including GFWC President Babs Condon. Pinwheels will be unplanted and given to passers-by with activities concluding at 2pm.

Step Sisters Ribbon Run - April 15 and 16
  • What: The 9th annual Step Sisters’ Ribbon Run/Walk will bring together runners and walkers from the Brambleton community and beyond to support the Step Sisters’ mission; a variety of opportunities are available Friday and Saturday.
  • Time: volunteers are need Friday (day before the race) and Saturday (day of the race)

Backpack Buddies - April 21
  • What: Put together meal packs at Galilee United Methodist Church
  • Time: TBD (after 5pm)

Sock Project - GFWC Federation Day - April 24
  • What: In recognition of GFWC Federation Day we will package socks with notes of encouragement to be donated to the Loudoun Abused Women's Shelter (LAWS)
  • Time: TBD

65th Anniversary Tree Planting & Dedication - April 30
  • What: Planting of 30-35 trees at Tuscarora High School in celebration of our 65th Anniversary; dedication ceremony to follow
  • Time: Planting to begin at 11:30 am; Dedication at 1:30 pm

March for Babies - May 1
  • What: Annual March of Dimes event at Reston Town Center; volunteers are need for a variety of tasks before and during the walk.
  • Time: Volunteers are needed from 8 am to 2 pm; the walk will begin at 10 am

2016 Food Fight - May 13-15
  • What: Hosted in partnership with hunger relief organization Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), thousands of volunteers from across Northern Virginia will come together at Dulles Expo Center to fight world hunger by packing 5,000,000 meals in 3 days.
  • Time: Shifts are available all three days; 9 am - 10 pm on Friday & Saturday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm on Sunday

Meghan's Walk/Great Strides - May 22
  • What: Walk at Loudoun County High School in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; volunteers are needed to assist with walker registration
  • Time: Volunteers are needed from 8 am - 10:30 am; you may volunteer even if you aren't available the full two and a half hours.
